Bus Transfers To and From Washington Baltimore Airport

When arriving at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), please remember to collect your entire luggage from the baggage claim area before proceeding to the chosen means of transfer from the airport. Transfer options available at the airport include rental cars, buses and taxis, among a few other alternatives.

Buses at BWI

Anne Arundel County – This shuttle bus isn’t really for transfer for arriving air travelers, but a free means of transportation for workforce and job seekers in the area so they can move with ease and without costs.

It does connect with the airport as one of its stops is the BWI Marshall Airport Light Rail Station located outside the lower level of the terminal building.

MTA Bus Service – The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration, MDOT MTA, operates two bus services at BWI.

#75 connects the airport with Parkway Center, Arundel Mills Mall, Airport 100 Park and the Patapsco Light Rail Stop.

#107 connects the airport with weekday services connecting the airport with UMBC, CCBC Catonsville, Bloomsbury & Frederick, Rolling & Security Blvd., Liberty & Milford Mill, and the Old Court Metro Station.

MTA Commuter Bus 201

The MTA Commuter Bus 201 connects the Gaithersburg Park and Ride, located at I-270 and MD 124 (in Montgomery County), and the airport with a few stops in between at Shady Grove Metro, the Georgia Avenue Park & Ride and Arundel Mills Mall.

At BWI Marshall Airport the bus drops passengers off on the upper level outside Concourses A and E and they pick passengers up on the lower level outside Concourses A and E. Concourse A is Southwest Airlines while Concourse E is the International Terminal.

The route terminates at the BWI Rail Station. Departures from the airport are hourly on weekdays beginning from 5.05 AM and ending at 11.05 PM, and on weekends and holidays beginning at 9.05 AM until 11.05 PM.

Luggage may be stowed in the storage compartments below with some exceptions for items that are not permitted for safety reasons and oversize.

Tickets can be purchased in exact change directly on the bus, no change will be refunded if it is not the exact amount.

Hotel Shuttles at BWI

Some hotels may offer an airport shuttle service to their guests for convenient transfer between the airport and the hotel in question. These shuttle buses are allowed to collect their customers from specific locations outside the airport.

Zones 1, 3 and 4 are allocated to these shuttles. Zone 1 is next to the terminal to the side of Door 1, Terminal A. Zone 3 is located outside Terminal D and zone 4 is next to Terminal E to the side of Door 18.

Hotel shuttles are organized by and through the hotel.

Complimentary shuttles are offered between the airport and the car rental facility as well as between the airport and the MTA MARC/Amtrak Train Station.
