MTA Light Rail at Baltimore Washington Airport

MDOT MTA, the Maryland Department of Transit Maryland Transit Administration provides a light rail service to and from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

The BWI Marshall Airport Light Rail Station is located adjacent to Concourse E, outside the lower level of the terminal building.

They operate all days of the week with first arrival at 4.45 AM and final departure at 12.40 AM on weekdays. On Saturdays the first arrival is at 5.05 AM and the final departure at 12.45 AM while the first arrival is at 10.35 AM and the final departure at 8.40 PM on Sundays and Holidays.

The Light Rail service is available to and from downtown Baltimore, Timonium and Hunt Valley.

Travelers wanting to go to Penn Station have to exit the train at Mt. Royal Avenue and take the Penn Station Light Rail from there. The fare is $1.90 both ways.

MTA MARC Train and Amtrak at Baltimore Washington Airport

MTA MARC Train services as well as Amtrak Train services are available at the nearest MARC/Amtrak Station, but to get there a transfer from the airport is necessary.

A courtesy shuttle is in operation 24/7 in both directions between the MARC/Amtrak Train Station and the BWI Marshall Airport Terminal with departures every 10 minutes between 5.00 AM and 1.00 AM, and every 25 minutes between 1.00 AM and 5.00 AM.

At the Train Station the shuttle stop is adjacent to the rail station garage which is located directly across from the MARC/Amtrak Station.

At the BWI Terminal shuttles drop the travelers off near each designated airline check-in counter on the upper level while they pick up travelers at four designated stops outside the baggage claim areas on the lower level before departing to the train station.

The shuttle service operates all days of the year.

At the train stations there are train connections with multiple destinations in the surrounding area, like Washington DC and Philadelphia, PA and more.
