After arriving at BWI Marshall Airport please make sure to collect all personal luggage before exiting the baggage claim area of the airport to proceed to the chosen transfer option. These options include rental cars, buses and taxis among a few other options. 

Taxis at BWI

BWI Airport Taxi is the taxi company that exclusively serves Baltimore-Washington International Airport and the travelers that need a taxi transfer from there. The company does not collect passengers at other locations to transfer to the airport or anywhere else. 

To transfer to the airport using a taxi transfer, travelers are recommended to contact their local taxi company. 

Taxi cabs are available at all times, 24/7, at the taxi ranks located near doors 5 and 13 just outside the baggage claim area on the lower level of the terminal.

Taxis are not allowed to charge a flat rate and it is advised that passengers make sure that the taximeter is turned as the trip starts and that a charge amount is visible on it to ensure the correct fare. 

The fare to central Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is approximately $35.00 and will take around 15-20 minutes depending on the final destination and the traffic. The fare to downtown Washington DC is around $90.00 and will take less than an hour if traffic is moving, which will partly depend on the time of day traveling.

Ride Shares at BWI

App-based ride share services are arranged by the traveler or their representative through the company’s app or website. This is done in advance of the arrival at the airport. The RideShare Zone is located on the curbside outside on the upper level, Departures, for both picking up and dropping off passengers.

A few tips from the airport for safe traveling with a RideShare vehicle is to make sure the car you are getting into is the car you ordered by having the driver state your name rather than you asking them if they are your drivers. Ride in the backseat and wear a seat belt, share your details with loved ones and follow your intuition.
